Full Day Course Incl Big Ideas Teaching Guide

Catherine and Anita will present this full-day course introducing Numicon Big Ideas Programme for Secondary, Intermediate and Primary Teachers, SENCOs, LSCs, RTLBs and Support Staff. Big Ideas is a 12 week programme that takes the key mathematical ideas from the second part of Phase 2 (Years 6-8) and presents them in ways that are visible and accessible to all learners. It is usually taught to small groups of 4 students. The programme uses research about how to best support learners who have missed out on key concepts, enabling them to rejoin the class upon completion. The day will include: practical work, some theory and a chance to try the lessons and ask questions. Morning tea will be supplied. Bring your own lunch. *please note - there is another course running in Rotorua the day before this one. It is aimed at Tier 3 students. Why not attend both? There are 2 course options.
